P1 blog 5/12/17

We are in full swing of nativity rehearsals now and are doing incredibly well. We are so excited for you to come along and see us in our performance. We really are getting into the ‘being an actor/actress’ thing! There’s lots of good body language, facial expression and use of voice. Look out for a little slip in your child’s bag next week – this will tell you what to send in for their costume. Please make sure it is in a labelled carrier bag!
In literacy we have been building and blending words with G and L. We have all decided that our reading and writing is coming on so much. Our writing is looking great and we are working so hard to use finger spaces and full stops. On Tuesday we even went up to share our writing with the P7 buddies as we did so well.
We have also been doing some Scottish Country dancing. We had some special helpers (buddies!) who taught us all the dance moves they know. We don’t know who had the biggest smiles – them or us!
With enterprise coming up we have been very busy making and creating. Because it is so cold and frosty we have decided to help the birds and make some Christmas bird cookies to sell. We went out and fed the birds on Thursday as some of us noticed they might not be able to find anything good to eat because of the hard, frosty ground.
Plea from Miss Smith – if you have any sound wallets, tricky word tubs, reading books or homework jotters at home please make sure these come in on Friday 8th!
